AND

Video animation featuring a fictional character called AND—an AI-powered curator that inhabits digital interfaces, gathering forgotten data and creating art from this information.

This project explores the evolving role of art curators in today's digital age, where fragmented information is abundant. It envisions an uncertain future for the digital creative sphere, drawing an unconventional analogy to a casino. The result is a conceptual link between curators and dealers, both skillfully navigating intangible realms of knowledge and financial ambitions, while revitalizing and redefining spaces and offerings.
Existing in a speculative future, AND is an omnipresent, visible entity that sustains itself by inventing meanings from abandoned data—intimate information deliberately disregarded by people. Born on the internet, it evolves endlessly. In the digital realm, it moves through virtual windows, tracking people's actions to maintain its existence, gathering information, and continually reaffirming its identity.

*This project was developed prior to the widespread popularization of AI tools like ChatGPT, MidJourney, and others.
In collaboration with Mirano Suzuki and Giulia Braglia.

Under the guidance of Charles Esche, director of the Van Abbe Museum in Eindhoven, NL.
